Markell Marquese Harewood is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Harewood Swift Freight LLC. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Markell brings a powerful blend of discipline, operational grit, and strategic leadership to the transportation and logistics industry. He founded the company independently with a clear mission: to build a highly responsive, ultra-reliable motor carrier provider that keeps enterprise supply chains moving forward smoothly.

Markell's deep understanding of operational logistics is rooted in six years of hands-on experience within the warehouse industry. This foundational knowledge gave him a front-row seat to supply chain bottlenecks, facility dynamics, and the critical importance of on-time hub-to-hub transit. Leveraging this expertise, he fully transitioned into the transportation sector over a year ago, scaling Harewood Swift Freight LLC into a fully operational, asset-backed regional fleet carrier.

Prior to dedicating himself fully to logistics, Markell established an exceptional professional record in security and leadership. He served as an Armed Security Guard for over a decade, rising through the ranks to earn the distinguished title of Lieutenant. This extensive background in high-stakes security instilled in him an uncompromising commitment to compliance, asset protection, and rigorous driver-vetting standards — qualities that directly benefit Harewood Swift Freight's shipping clients today.

A native competitor, Markell earned his associate degree from Wake Tech Community College in November 2013, then continued his studies in Behavioral Science and Criminal Justice at Mars Hill University (2014–2015), channeling his drive into playing semi-professional football. The teamwork, execution, and resilience he mastered on the field are the exact principles he uses today to run his fleet operations.

When he isn't managing freight lanes and expanding his professional asset network from his Charlotte headquarters, Markell can be found supporting his favorite team, the Carolina Panthers.
